Are you going to shorten the frame rear?
box is for electrics,
lith batt, solenoid, trips, not gonna have side panels [ive ground of all brackets].
want it to look minimalist [just ground off main stand stop and chain guard brackets also]

yes thought about shortening rear of frame [still undecided as it gives me somewhere to put some throw over luggage to wild camp],
how much did you reduce yours?

Dave.
Cunning idea for the electrics, what about the airbox? I ground all the main stand stops off on mine and put a 500 style side stand stop but forgot to do the chain guard ones.

I cut 4" off the back of mine. It brings the number plate in so it ends at the back wheel and makes the bike proportions look better as well getting rid off all the empty space behind the seat. I machined up a couple of plugs that go into the frame after its cut to join the two sections together as an interference fit with 4 holes drilled through the frame in the plugs. I then plug welded them and seam welded round the join (with a root gap) onto the plug as well and then ground back to make it invisible. I also drilled the plugs through so that it did not create a sealed space in the loop at the rear.

I can still use throw over saddle bags no problem.
no airbox, the engine thats going in runs a k&n [may have to run this], but an option ive been looking at is running two duct tubes from the rear of the carb each side of the frame spine under the fuel tank with two smaller filters on [theres a bit more room under tank if using the more bulbous of the two 350 tanks] all theory at the mo though.

Nice! Are you not worried about contamination on the filter? I wanted to get rid of the air box on mine but was concerned about it.

Keep the pictures coming!!

exhaust i shall try to make,
will need some brackets welding when i know where,
thinking of twin pipes one each side along bottom each side and up-swept past footrests with two small megaphone type silencers terminating near top of shocks,
again all in my head at the mo,
had a good discussion with dave the welder yesterday when i picked up my frame,

me------can you weld titanium.
dave----yes.

so im scanning e-bay now for gsx-r, zx10,blade, headers should get enough metal and bends to make the down pipes--- mmmmm titanium.
