Hi. Once you sort out the tyres etc, I would say if you want to ride the MTs at anything much over 75 MPH the condition and preload of the head races is critical. Even though the races looked ok with only VERY light pitting a replacement with a TAD of preload transformed the bike at higher speeds. Front wheel accurate balance also essential. Hope this helps. Spent quite some time looking for tyres today and this is where I’m at.
Diatanziaa no longer available.
Avon Trail Rider sizes don’t seem to match the sizes?
So found a set of Heidenau K60”s but there is a std K60 or a Scout but the Scouts are 120 80 21 and 4.00 18 whereas the std K60 is available in both size types, let’s say metric and imperial.

Are they the same or should I just go for the std K60 in the same size type?

I must sound like a right pain to you guys.....sorry.

All help appreciated

I've just looked at the Avon site and the Trailrider seems to be available in the right sizes Perhaps club member vtr**** who from memory is a tyre professional can advise?

There are posts from forum members who use different tyres but hard to compare them

Sorted out the front sprocket.

Skippy1970 reckons if I'd put a lock washer on it wouldn't have vibrated itself loose, I'm not convinced.

Good job there's no lube in the area - or else it could have come off at a very inconvenient moment!!

After fitting a nice shiny Sportax exhaust a couple of months ago I only rode it a couple of times and thought it may need attention in the carb jet department as it was not running well. Last week before messing with anything tipped the entire contents of the fuel tank away, refilled with fresh fuel and now it runs like a dream. Coupled with flywheel weight it now acts just as a big single should do. Very happy !
