WHAT COLOUR'S YOURS?

Post by BLACKANDWHITEARMY » Mon May 07, 2012 10:16 pm

My MT500 was WHITE before restoration, what could this bike have been in a previous life? Also what were other common colours bikes were supplied, and what sorts of things did they do? Would like to research the history of my bike, any pointers as to who/where to write to?

Thank you.

David.

The Army also had white and red Armstrongs.

They were produced in limited numbers and are quite rare in comparison to the green ones.

I was in 33 (EOD) Engineer Regt in the late 80's and early 90's and we had three of each colour.

If you have any of the original white plastics let me know, I have just bought a white one and intend to keep it white.

thanks

I've heard that the Forestry Commission had a batch of white ones, with CV in the frame number, to show that they were non-military

I had a white 500 CV model. ( now green )

It has a black frame, dual seat, ( now solo ) electric start and black ( flat ) pannier frames.

Assuming your frame number is MTCV00**** , check out the registration plate. If it was registered in the Sheffield area my guess is that you have a bike bought by Sheffield Parks authority- Howard MT500ish has one of these also. It may well have had a 562 engine fitted.

If it isn't an MTCV then look at FAQs to find out how you can find military history

Hi Derrick,
Have you sold the dual seat, if not how much do you want for it?

Thanks,

Just thought I'd give this thread a bump in response to the recent question about different colours of MTs
