Hello everyone, I'm Sooty

Post by Sooty » Mon Sep 24, 2018 10:25 am

Hi everyone, I'm Sooty. A 55 yr old lifelong biker and bike mechanic.
I've been riding since the age of 9 and on road since 16
I've owned everything from a Mobylette folder to an XV1600 And most stuff inbetween.. My main interest lies in off road trail bikes and am yet to own an Armstrong MT350 although have ridden a few 500s and one 350. (Mmmm electric foot! That left hand kickstart reminds me of a CZ and if the work of the devil I tell ya!)
I hope to own a 350 within the next 6 months or so and hope you guys will give me a warming welcome.

Welcome to the forum

The MT500 and CV500 were made by Armstrong, the MT350 and HD MT500 often referred to as an MT500e were built by HD. Hence, there isn't an Armstrong MT350

Most Armstrongs are kick start only , a small number ex factory with a starter, and some have been modified to accept a starter

Armstrong bought out SWM and tweaked their design, HD bought Armstrong and did further tweaks

Hi Sooty,

Welcome to the forum, good luck with your search for an MT350..

If you need a bit more umph from the 350 motor we do a 405cc kit along with other modifications for more power and speed!
