Welcome to the forum

You have a very special bike No 1 of the Canadian build of about 75

Many will be envious, a 500 with electric start, the UK military spec only had kick start

Welcome to the forum. Sportax and Force are two suppliers of Rotax parts and both can supply overseas.

Armstrong made
Evaluation models
UK police , I think the frames started MP
UK Post Office, frame numbers -unknown
number of these models

UK MT500 Army, kick start only 1985 - 1987/8 ? About 3000 produced ?. I would be absolutely amazed if the same frame number was re used within the same year code
UK CV500 Sheffield parks, frame numbers CV 00001 to CV00028 ? Electric start 560 ? engine, different forks, no pannier frame
Canadian MT500 Electric start, production run 75 ?

I did have the MT 500 format but it lost in the mists of time, I can't believe that they would ever use zero.

Yes, the MT350 has both electric and kick , both of which are functional. I would assume that the MTC has the same functionality.

If your battery dies suddenly (I've had a battery start the engine from cold then not have enough power to turn the engine over 20 miles (32km) later with a hot engine), then the kick start can be used. However, there is a knack to kick starting.

The UK kick start only 500 has a decompressor lever to allow you to turn the engine into the right position to start your kick. The right positìon is found by feel or by looking at the white marker that you should be able to view through the sight glass. The marker should be at the 12 o'clock position.

If you look through the forum there is a large thread about kick starting techniques used
