I'm up for that, preferably around the 24 hour daylight time. I can always take a pair of those black out things you used to get on long haul flights. :-)

I wondered what you got up to on your bike when I saw it at Stafford in all its unmissable finery built for adventure.

Amazing. Great reading, really well written up. What a great thing to do. Looking forward to reading more. Courageous. Inspiring. Really... well done!

Again, thanks for all the nice comments :)

Part 4

#37 Late next morning I wake up and the rain has stopped, the sun is trying to come out, and somehow miraculously the tiny heater in my room has completely dried out the shrine of motorcycle gear placed around it with the only exception of my boots which don't bother me as I got me some of those amazing waterproof socks from the club shop that actually work :D . I open my curtain and am greeted by this view - time to hit the road again! :

Image

#38 This was parked in the guesthouse car park. Could have done with this baby yesterday  . Had two ramps up on the back which I later found out (after seeing another one) were for carrying two snowmobiles. In fact many 4x4s here are huge American imports - guess European ones can't cut the mustard here...

Image

#39 A glacier up close and personal.

Image

Image

#40 And just in case anyone was tempted to go play on the ice... a fairly stark and poignant reminder about the dangers... these guys have never been found - the coordinates mark the spot where their tents were found.

Image

#41 This was turning into one of the best days scenery-wise ever...

Image

Image

#42 Tonight I camp in Höfn.

Image

#43 I wake up early with a strange glow against my tent. Stick my head outside to see this sunrise :)

Image

#44 Time to break camp for my penultimate day in Iceland.

Image

#45 The only major repair I had to make on the journey - the exhaust bolt had fallen out somewhere between Brighton and here. Nothing a trip to the local DIY shop couldn't fix...

Image

#46 Riding back to where I started: Seyðisfjörður

Image

Image

Image

#47 Setting up camp for the last time in Iceland in Seyðisfjörður next to Thomas and Sonia, a couple of other Germans I met both in Reykjavik and Höfn and were sailing back on the same day as me.

Image

#48 An early evening walk around Seyðisfjörður.

Image

Image

Image

#49 Next morning I wake up to find ice on my tent - ok, I'm definitely leaving on the right day!

Image

#50 Boarding doesn't commence until this afternoon, so I spend the morning walking around the town and down the south side of the fjord.

Image

Image

Image

#51 I then pack up ready for the ferry and go for a ride around to kill some more time.

Image

Image

#52 And now it's time to check in...

Image

#53 A very weary, sad, but happy me moments before being allowed to board :)

Image

#54 Goodbye Iceland, until next time..............?!

Image

Thanks for looking and reading everyone - hope you've enjoyed it :D

I've kept this thread MT-biased with a few bits of scenery thrown in, but if you want to see more I have a more general album here:
