Re: lockdown 2020/2021 project

Newton's third law I think there’s more at play here than just the 3rd law. The rotation of the brake disc causes a centripetal force towards the centre of the disc and a centrifugal force outwards. When the centripetal force is broken/interrupted the resulting force is linear and perpendicular to ...

Hi thanks for the reply’s I was hoping to pick one up private for around £2500, I realise dealers are more expensive as they do have to earn a living.
Regards Peter.
You should be fine with that budget. Check out the thread Initial Servicing Guide in the General section

Re: Today @ SPORTAX Racing

NB directly below the clutch cable entry point, on the underside, there is a drain hole. I couldn't find it on 2 x 604 or 5 x 500 motors. owners have said they can't find it before, then found it. With the underside absolutely clean and shining a torch whilst looking upwards, you'll find it. I foun...

Re: Today @ SPORTAX Racing

Hi Gary. Was just looking at the twin cam Rotax engine. Looks trick! Is the extension to the clutch cable entry point to stop oil leakage under pressure from the cable housing? NB directly below the clutch cable entry point, on the underside, there is a drain hole which can get plugged with mud, pe...

Re: What have you done to your MT today ? contd

Interesting discussion ,but I'm just glad that orrible noise has gone when I stop it :D Yes, whereas the kick start only 500 needs a decompessor to allow the rider to set his engine up for starting, the 350 can easily be set up for kickstart without. As for kickback, I do wonder how many degrees of...

Re: What have you done to your MT today ? contd

Well done on fitting the decompresser .I always use mine to stop the engine, it saves damaging the sprag. :D regards, Alan When the engine is stopped by cutting the ignition the piston can "bounce" back off the compression at quite a speed forcing the bobbins in the sprag to be flung outwards whils...
