They were all clean once!

Your right though, once the MOT is done, it will be getting used.

Re: Another MT350 restoration complete. Well almost......

Final update I replaced the sprag spring this morning and what a difference a six quid part can make. Had to buy a battery as well but at least its now finished. Thanks to all those who helped me during this final week of restoration. It has been very much appreciated. Now if I could just work out h...

Re: Another MT350 restoration complete. Well almost......

Now I'm a bit confused. The lobes on the outer diameter surface of the sprag don't look worn, nor on the inner diameter surface for that matter. But is there another part of the lobes that can be worn or at fault? As for the gear, do you mean the gear that the sprag fits inside located with the snap...

Re: Another MT350 restoration complete. Well almost......

I got the sprag off today. The lobes didn't look worn at all but the spring didn't seem to have any tension and looked like it had been stretched. As I can't compare it with another spring yet, I am guessing its no good and a new spring might be all I need (and another clutch cover gasket).

Re: Another MT350 restoration complete. Well almost......

Another update...…. Been down in the garage again this evening and it fired up after a three presses of the starter button. I'm beginning to think it was the starter relay stuck on due to the original short on the starter cable. Now its freed off and getting some use, its working better. I'm not sur...

Re: Another MT350 restoration complete. Well almost......

Todays update...… Yesterday, the starter cable was earthing to the frame, so I rerouted the cable today, making sure there was no grounding. With the ignition off, I offered up the positive cable to the battery and the starter just started turning! So something not right! Back to first principles. B...

Re: Another MT350 restoration complete. Well almost......

Todays update..... I changed the clutch friction plates this weekend and put everything on the timing front (described above) back to book. I filled it with oil and petrol and pressed the starter. It would turn but sounded like the sprag clutch was disengaging too early. However, I kept going and tr...
