Re: Nick @Force

As per the original post - I recently made an order which included a surcharge as I'm on the Isle of Man. Nick emailed to say they'd sent it Royal Mail instead of Courier as cheaper. Nice customer service, appreciated Nick.

Re: A little help from a friend or the general public !

As above re the back brake on my 350 - was pretty pants when I first got the bike, gave it a thorough clean and covered a few miles - all good. Didn't take long at all.

Thanks guys. Latest tube is a heavy duty one sourced from a local offroad motorsport specialist... so I'll keep my fingers crossed and see how it goes.

Re: What have you done to your MT today ? contd

Changed the bloody back tyre inner tube again. The fecking thing was just parked up, and yet the back tyre went flat. Do these things do it for fun or what? Checked the rim tape and it looked okay, but the tube split on the inside.....FFS??? Am I missing something?

Re: DEFENDER 90

200 Tdis are a good bet - nice engine, very usable. The older Td and NA engines were horrible. I've got a 110 Puma currently - goes well, essentially a modern car - but I preferred the "honest" nature and simplicity of my previous 200 engined Defender. TD5s are also good, if properly maintained. Usu...

Re: 405 conversion - is it worth while?

Okay - so got the MT back today - taking it easy as I'm not sure how much running in required. That said, there's a noticeable improvement in "grunt" and it seems much happier running up through the gears to A road speeds. Regear means its cruising better too. So far, so good... will report back lat...

Re: 405 conversion - is it worth while?

Mate of mine (engineer/engine builder) fitted the 405 kit, new jet and sprocket & chain... get it back at the weekend. Apparently his verdict: "its very willing". Should be fun :-)

Re: Registered Ready to go

Welcome! Front brake on the 350 is as good as most modern bikes when operating correctly - don't accept it as being "a bit crap" cos its an old MT. Mine will fire you over the bars with 2 finger pull... good luck ;-)
