Re: VIN numbers - I want yours.......

MT 500 C701 FAH 193205 - looks like it has been done by hand 000610 - the 10 is slightly offset Q1. What does this tell me about the provenance of the machine? Q2. Who do I write to for the military records? Fanks Matt Probably was done by hand; small manyfacturers at that time would not have had m...

Re: Hello (Stolen)

Sorry to hear this, I had a bike pinched years ago so I can very much sympathise. Mine did eventually get found and returned, thanks to a couple of very sharp eyed bobbies on the beat in Birmingham.

Hopefully yours will come back to you, too.

Re: Found this old video

Ah. The White helmets display team selection course!
I went on this course in the early 1990's (and was to my surprise successful)
It was very much as arduous as it looks but was a great time looking back on it

Re: New member

I've stripped and rebuilt it since buying it and added a couple of bits and bobs to improve things. A flywheel weig...

Re: Advice on Heating my garage

Largish oil filled radiator. I've run one in mine for years and kept it fairly warm and dry.

Re: DEFENDER 90

My neighbours son uses one everyday without fail. It's a non turbo dieesel short wheelbase. Seems more than good enough for the job of getting him to from and round the farm without any mollycoddling.

Re: New years eve nightmare ride home !

After a very similar very scary experience to your ride a couple of years ago I fitted relays to my MT 500 headlamp circuits. It made an enormous difference to the light output. It's not an expensive or difficult task to do and would very much change your enjoyment of the bike especially riding at n...
