Re: Military History Help Please!

If you know what the military registration number was you can send a Freedom of Information request to the MOD asking for its service history.

Re: Dating by frame number

Discostew38. I would have thought you could simply make up a date just to get it through the MOT. Unfortunately, I think that it is likely to be the least of your problems. I have a lot of experience in registering classic British bikes and I don't think registering the MT350 is any different. If th...

Re: Kindle Fire blocking the Forum?

From what I've read, it may be a deliberate policy on the part of Amazon to make the Kindle Fire's OS incompatible with its rival's apps (eBay, Gumtree, etc).

Stainless Steel Exhaust

I took this stainless exhaust system off my Armstrong MT560e and replaced it with the standard exhaust system. When I restored the bike, I reverted back to a standard exhaust system and have no use for the SS exhaust which is just taking up space in my workshop. I don't know how this exhaus...

Re: Advice on Heating my garage

It's not just condensation damage to bikes I'm concerned about - it's also damage to tools and spare parts etc kept in the workshop.

Re: Advice on Heating my garage

I would definitely insulate it first or you might find it difficult to keep warm. It was a fair amount of effort to insulate my large workshop/shed but now a small electric oil fired heater on a relatively low setting keeps it above 10 deg C most of the time.

Re: New years eve nightmare ride home !

Hi Adam. That sounds like one of the many nightmare trips I made in the past - at least the snow had largely disappeared here in Cumbria by then! Glad the front wheel is now ok. Happy New year Arthur

Re: condensation

It's likely that the effect is caused by surface roughness if the MT is covered in matt paint. Not that much appears to be known about the effect of surface roughness on condensation rates but it's likely it's to do with the fact that the effective surface area of a rough surface is greater than a s...
