Re: MT500 and chair at Mallory VMCC test day

Interesting. It seems to be doing it's best to look even more ancient to blend in with it's surroundings.

Sorry Marcus. My mistake. I had it in my head you was talking about the torque arm locating the backplate to the swinging arm

Re: mt 500 rear brake arm.

Compare yours to some of the photos you'll find on here. I have never seen a curved one with a Grimeca stamp. Search on here for the workshop manual and you will find an exploded picture to give you some idea. Also, take a look on the suppliers websites (Force or LMS Lichfield) as the right one migh...

Re: Llanfyllin Workhouse 27th April 2019

Update on the food situation. The cook will not be available on Friday night so we are arranging an oven full of pies, probably a simple choice of Steak or Chicken with a few specials for the veggies (let me know!). There should also be peas and gravy. The ladies at the workhouse are a bit worried i...

Re: Classic Motorcycle mag. April '19

I was considering all the recent newer members that might not know as much as us old fogeys. The bikes in the feature are from the National Motorcycle Museum. The problem with the MT500 in there is that it has been painted in desert beige which as far as I know was never a production colour, changed...

The April 2019 edition of The Classic Motor Cycle magazine comes with a free supplement "The Military", British bikes on active service. It isn't very in-depth but covers bikes from WW1 and has a page on the Armstrong MT500 which has some history that may not be widely known. I found it very interes...

A quick note about the legals here. Please be aware that this event is deliberately listed under "Members own events". This is not an official club meet, so the club is not officially liable for any legal responsibility. I don't think for one minute that any member would ever try to claim against th...

Re: Events 2019 - update

Fully appreciate your points George. And I agree with your view. As Hounddog mentioned, it was the combination of no rideout and most wanting to leave early. Having said that, Shropshire was always earmarked as the "Big Meet" for this year (and I can't get to that one). If you wanted to arrange meet...
