See the other post about the sprag clutch. It sounds like the same thing. If you're lucky it might just be the spring.

With 40mm lower at front and back it was too upright on the sidestand, not safe. After removing the 40mm it was at a better angle of lean. I also made new bushes to tighten it up. Perhaps if you've got loads of play in the sidestand it's allowing it to lean further over?

I did exactly that a few years ago. What a difference! So much more comfortable. :D I dropped the forks 40mm. I also cut 40mm off the side stand and welded a short peg so I can flip the stand down while sitting on the bike. I haven't shortened the centre stand but I don't use it much, I run it up a ...
